In general all our trips leave from M'hamid but if you desire we can pick you up at the Ouarzazate airport and drive you
to M'hamid via the beautiful Draa valley: the Route of One Thousand Kasbahs.
The road from Ouarzazate to Zagora (about 100 miles ) takes you at first through the grandeur of the peaks and ridges of
the Djebel Sarhro range to the main pass at Tizi n'Tinififft ( 1,660 m ). At Agdz, you emerge from the mountains to catch
a first, extraordinary glimpse of the Draa Valley and the oases - a thick streak of palms reaching out into the haze, and
the first sign of the Draa kasbahs, rising from the land where the green gives way to the desert.
Once in Zagora, we can visit Tamegroute (also spelled Tamgrout), which is situated on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara
and was for centuries an important center for religion and education. We will visit the Librairie Coranique (Koranic
Library)and stop at the medieval potteries. Then our route continues towards M'hamid where the road literally comes to
an end.
You could take any of the treks outlined above after this excursion.
